About the movie
When Maria (Marlene Dietrich) meets Count Dino (Vittorio De Sica) gambling in Monaco, her losing night takes a positive turn. The two immediately take up with one another, but the affair is short-lived once Maria learns that the count is a compulsive gambler like her.
